about

One day while browsing nearby thrift stores I came across a box of old 45's from the 1960's for a few cents each and bought them. Most of them were pretty well used and have noticeable surface noise, but it somehow added to the experience and seemed beyond appropriate for this kind of old music. Likewise, it seemed appropriate to play them all at the incorrect speed of 33 rpm, and also there is some real time turntable manipulation occurring during the album, which I did by manually pushing the record with my hands to slow them down, changing the speed knob when it seemed appropriate, etc. I used a crappy cheap old turntable to do this so I wouldn't damage my good one. The artist name is named after a track I released on the first album on Occasionally Tapes, which used the same techniques. Some light effects and manipulation were added after the fact as well, but many of the effects are from live turntable manipulation.
