DJ Thrift Store presents a selection of tracks, sampling beyond obscure music from 90's bands, purchased on the compact disc format at various thrift shops.
These artists are so obscure you can't listen to a single one of these tracks in their original form online, not even on places like soulseek, let alone youtube or spotify etc.
Google search results list only a few results for most of these, a few of them I could not find a single search result for. All of the tracks sample a different artist.
This is music you would have never otherwise heard, unless you find the cd at a thrift shop somewhere by pure chance or somebody uploaded it randomly at some point.
These tracks were beefed up nicely, have some other mostly minimal effects added overall apart from the beefing up. None of the tracks have any parts taken out, so you can hear the tracks in their entirety.
All tracks were slowed down by exactly 25%, so if you increase the speed by 33 1/3rd percent (by downloading the album and using a program like audacity), you can hear the tracks at their original speeds, albeit with the added effects not present in the originals.
Most music I find at thrifts is available online, but rarely that isn't the case, like the ones here.
There will be other parts to this series eventually, with other themes and different types of music, also will be sampling obscure cassettes and records along with more obscure cds.
